Before you think I'm a crazed animal rights fanatic, let me start off by saying that I love a good burger or a juicy steak as much as the next guy. However, animal experimentation is just... disgusting. The fact that scientists can choose to experiment on them is worse enough, but their actions are GROTESQUE! I've heard so many things, I don't even know where to start. I was doing a research article about it for my English class, and I learned that scientists implant hazardous items into chimps' brains(Off the top of my head, I have forgotten what was inserted, but still). Not to mention the lack of pain killers... but you know, at that point, to hell with pain killers. You're implanting deadly substances into a chimp's brain; you might as well kill it. Could you imagine having something implanted into your brain...? What if people were the test subjects instead of animals? There would probably be a riot. If I was chosen to partake in an experiment to cure cancer or something of that magnitude, I would sure as hell not attend. Who would? Animals do not have a say. How is that fair? Granted, animals cannot talk, but there should be someone to speak for them.
Riots. That would just be awesome. People would riot against having to go in and be experimented on. In the face of fear, it is in our nature act out. Chimps, rabbits, mice, etc, act out in labs; but, those type of animals are quite inferior to us and don't put up a pretty good fight. Pretty unfair, if you ask me.
Someone FOR animal experimentation might say "Well, we really don't have a choice but to use animals as test subjects. Would you, a human being, want to take their place?"
In my opinion, I think that is exactly what we need. Go experiment on a damn human-being and see what if feels like. Maybe then you will be able to open your eyes and see the torture you're inflicting on these animals...
